The road is clear for the 3rd Ötztal Cycling Day

Sölden's Rettenbach Glacier will again be reigned by passionate cycling fans all Sunday long. A truly unique chance to discover the magic Ötztal Alps on two wheels.

The route of this 3rd Ötztal Cycling Day, leading up to the eternal ice of Rettenbach Glacier, is quite challenging: 13 kilometers, 1300 meters of altitude gain and an average gradient of no less than 11%. Of course taking part in the challenge is more important than winning it! On 11 July 2010 everyone is warmly invited to join the splendid cycling day at the heart of Ötztal's high Alpine wonderland.

For the entire day the road is closed to motorized traffic, guaranteeing a safe and entertaining cycle adventure on Europe's highest glacier road - breathtaking vistas included!

Start:	Sölden, Gaislachkogl mountain gondola 1377 m
Finish:	Rettenbach Glacier 2670 m
Distance:	13 km, 1300 m altitude gain
Individual timekeeping:	Automatic start and timekeeping devices right next to Gaislachkogl gondola in Sölden: take a ticket, stamp it and off you go!
Refreshment:	Drinks and fresh fruit available at the road toll station.
Parking:	You find a parking garage next to the starting area - free of charge.
Information desk:	At the start you get all important details.

TIPS FOR CYCLISTS

Helmet, gloves and sunglasses are an absolute must. • Don't forget your rucksack with weather-proof clothing, wind stopper and rain gear.
Check brakes and tire pressure for a strength-saving ascent to the glacier.
Budget your energy and strength – The journey is the reward.
The roads to Hochsölden and Rettenbach Glacier are closed but traffic regulations still apply. Always check your speed and show consideration for other cyclists.
