TRAIL COURSE:
The scenic Urweg Trail takes walkers from Obergurgl to Karlsruhe Hütte. Starting at Gaisbergweg area, located above the village on the cart trail in direction Gaisberg bridge (trail no. 7). On the western slope of Hohe Mut peak the slightly to moderately ascending trail leads up to Schönwieshütte (2262 m) at the entrance to Rotmoostal valley. Here you continue on the cart trail (trail no. 8), slightly descending at the beginning, towards Gurgler Alm (8000 year old culture landscapes) and the shepherds hut made of stone. Proceeding towards the upper valley along the slopes of Hangerer summit, below Langtalereck area. At the end steeply rising turns take you to the serviced Karlsruher Hütte at 2430 m.
