Here you can find all important and interesting facts concerning the Ötztaer Cycle Marathon at a glance:
ÖTZTALER STAR RIDE for Everyone who still has a Vision
A maximum of 20 cycling enthusiasts can join the outstanding star ride from Rome to the marathon starting point in Sölden. The daily cycling stages vary between 150 and 220 kilometers. At the end of every single stage the participants enjoy a small welcome event. Luggage transfer is of course available. The journey is not meant as a competition but focuses on leisurely cycling and getting familiar with the "Ötztaler" on the way to Sölden. All participants are unique promoters of cycling sports.
What's more, the 20 participants in the Star Ride towards Sölden can take advantage of another great highlight: they receive a guaranteed starting place in the Ötztaler Cycling Marathon 2015. Between the start in Rome and the arrival in Sölden, all participants enjoy a full-service package deal which includes accommodation with half board in the stage towns, food and drink on the road, luggage transport, Garmin bicycle computer (rental) with route book already downloaded and accompanying car. Along the route, a fantastic "flying Ötztaler service team" will provide you with all the necessary energy snacks and drinks. In case of a breakdown you can trust in the expert service team that accompanies the real "Ötztaler Fans".
THE EXACT ROUTE: From Rome and the mouth of the Tiber River towards the Mediterranean Sea, we follow the river upstream to its source. Across the Apennine Mountains and through the Po Valley, the route also travels past Lake Garda and the mighty Dolomites before you reach Brenner Pass, Kühtai and Sölden.
There is one more day this year as we want to take a closer look at some of Italy's most beautiful areas. All participants receive a Garmin bicycle computer for rent, including a detailed route book. Two experienced support teams of the "Maratona dles Dolomites" will accompany the cyclists on the entire route. "First come, first served" is our principle: so be quick and register for the 20-(wo)men team!
